Dr Christopher Steinfort is a Specialist Respiratory and Sleep Physician with extensive experience treating all areas of the lung, breathing and sleep health.

After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1978 and was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1984, followed by the American College of Chest Physicians in 1992. While undertaking specialist training at Brompton Hospital London, Chris worked in the Host Defence Unit completing extensive research in Bronchiectasis.

In 1987 Chris returned from England and commenced specialist practice in Geelong and played an integral role in establishing the Respiratory Medicine Unit and Lung Function Laboratory located in what is now known as University Hospital - Geelong and continues as director of the Lung Function Laboratory.

Whilst running a busy private practice in Geelong over the last 30 years, he has maintained an active role in research through his involvement in numerous clinical trials and published research articles in Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Sarcoidosis, Sleep Medicine and drug induced Lung Disease.

Dr Steinfort has appointments at University Hospital - Geelong and St. John of God Geelong Hospital and is actively involved with the Deakin University School of Medicine.
