The Atrium Gift & Coffee Shop is getting a new temporary home! We will be closing the shop at 3:30pm on Friday 28th April, and will reopen in the new location in the Atrium on Monday 1st May at 12 noon. Our Auxiliary will be holding a fundraising trading table at Strath Village Shopping Centre, Strathdale, tomorrow from 10am. They will be selling some of their beautiful handcrafted items, cakes, preserves, knitted items, and crafts. Money raised through the Auxiliary go towards equipment and services for our Hospital.

St John of God Bendigo Hospital

Nathan Tate is a caregiver at St John on God Bendigo. This is his story.... Nathan was born in Bendigo and joined the Royal Australian Army Ordinance Corp (RAAOC) in 2005. Nathans first posting was to 7th Combat Service Support Battalion (CSSB) in Enoggera, Queensland until 2010. During this time, he employed to East Timor Campaign for 5 months in the Stabilisation Force. After Timor, Nathan was only back for three months before being deployed to Iraq for seven months with Over Watch Battle Group 4 in Talil, Southern Iraq. On returning from Iraq, he resumed service with the Combat Service Support Battalion until 2010 and was then posted to 1st Aviation Regiment in Darwin. Promoted to Corporal, he then deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan, in the Rotary Wing Group 7 as Repair Parts Store corporal for 6 months. Group Commendation for RWG On returning, he resumed service in Darwin for a further 2 years before being discharged. Commendations and Honour for service include the Group Commendation for Rotary Wing Group 7, received the NATO Medal, Active Service Medal, ASM and AASM, Australian Service Medal, RSL medal? Nathan returned to Bendigo in 2014 and has been employed at St John of God Hospital for the past 9 months in stores. Anzac Day 2017. Lest we forget.

This afternoon we held our pre Anzac Service in the Atrium. A big thank you to everyone involved, and a special mention to caregiver Nathan Tate for speaking at today's service. Nathan served in the Army from 2005 to 2014.
