Financial benefits
Salary packaging – reducing the amount of tax you pay
As a not-for-profit health care organisation, we offer salary packaging to eligible full-time, part-time and casual caregivers.
Through Maxxia salary packaging you may be able to reduce your taxable income by paying for certain expenses with pre-tax money. This may include up to $18,550 per year across:
- up to $15,900 for everyday living expenses, such as mortgage or rent, groceries, fuel and school fees
- up to $2,650 for meal entertainment, holiday accommodation and venue hire
- novated leasing for a car and related expenses.
Allowances
Eligible roles may be entitled to allowances* such as postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields, professional development, or uniform and meal allowances as per the applicable enterprise agreement.

Relocation assistance
Candidates applying for approved roles from outside of Australia may be eligible for overseas relocation support*, including:
- assistance with Australian work visas with progression to permanent residency (where applicable)
- personalised support from a relocation specialist to assist with housing, school tours, temporary accommodation, taxation, banking and settling in
- financial support for eligible relocation costs, such as visa fees and flights.

Financial services
We partner with selected financial service providers Bank First and Westpac to offer caregivers access to programs, discounts and support.
Caregivers may be able to access:
- home loan offers
- discounts on selected financial products and fees
- financial health check sessions.
We also partner with HESTA, the industry super fund for health and community services in Australia. HESTA offers caregivers a choice of programs on financial wellbeing topics, and HESTA members can access free, personalised advice from superannuation service advisers.
Work-life balance
Flexible work options
We support flexible work options where possible, recognising that flexibility can look different across roles, teams and locations.
Depending on your role and workplace, this may include:
- role flexibility, such as job-sharing
- time flexibility, such rostering or start and finish time arrangements
- working from hybrid or multiple locations
- an option to purchase up to 2 weeks of additional annual leave
- up to 14 weeks paid parental leave (varies by state/location)
- paid partner leave
- community support leave that encourages eligible caregivers to volunteer their expertise by participating in social justice causes
- blood donor leave for eligible caregivers in Victoria.

Employee assistance program
We partner with Converge International to provide employee assistance to our caregivers and their immediate family members. The employee assistance program (EAP) offers you free confidential support for a wide-range of concerns and gives you access to independent qualified professionals, including psychologists, social workers and management coaches.

St John of God Health Care programs and health services
We offer all eligible caregivers:
- discounts on St John of God Health Care hospital and medical services for caregivers, their spouses and dependents
- free annual influenza vaccination programs
- free wellness programs.
Discounted radiology services
Caregivers in Western Australia may be eligible for discounts on selected SKG Radiology services at WA hospitals.
Discounted health insurance
We partner with selected health insurance providers to offer caregivers discounts on hospitals and extras cover:
- Bupa
- Medibank
- HBF.
Discounted fitness membership
Caregivers may be able to access discounted memberships through Fitness Passport at participating locations across Australia.
