We partner directly with education providers to offer student placements and integrated learning opportunities to those who require experience as part of their TAFE or university studies across many clinical areas.
The benefits of a placement with St John of God Health Care
We offer a range of opportunities to support your learning and future career, including:
- Clinical placements for students across nursing, midwifery and allied health.
- Partnership programs, also known as clinical school or fellowship programs, that allow students to complete their clinical placements with us. These programs help students become familiar with our hospitals and processes, enhance their learning experience and improve their employment prospects.
- Employment opportunities for nursing and allied health students in roles such as Assistant in Nursing (AIN) or Allied Health Assistant. In these roles, students perform hands-on tasks under the guidance and supervision of experienced health professionals. Search our current vacancies to view available opportunities.
- Exposure to what a future career at St John of God Health Care could offer, starting with our nursing, midwifery and allied health Pathways to Practice graduate programs.
- Offering student midwife employed positions in partnership with universities. These positions support registered nurses to complete their Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Studies while meeting their clinical practice requirements with us.

Placements or work experience requests from students
St John of God Health Care does not accept requests for placements directly from students.
If you are interested in completing a placement at one of our locations as part of your TAFE or university studies, you will need to speak with your education provider to assist you with your options.
