If you are applying for a medical-based role such as a nursing, allied health or a doctor position, we recommend your AHPRA registration or membership with the relevant Allied Health organisation is approved before you apply.
AHPRA ensures that only health practitioners with the skills and qualifications to provide competent and ethical care are registered to practice. When you apply for registration, your application is carefully assessed against the National Board’s requirements for registration to ensure you are suitably trained and qualified and meet the requirements for registration in your profession.

All caregivers employed by St John of God Health Care are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Once applications for a position have closed, the hiring manager will review your application against the selection criteria for the position.

If you are shortlisted, we’ll invite you to attend an online interview. The interview will either be a live video or automated video. We will send you an email which will include how to prepare for your interview and the format to expect.

At St John of God Health Care, we put our patients and clients at the centre of our care and want every caregiver to have the same commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone who walks through our doors. With this in mind, there may be some pre-employment documents to submit, however, we will advise you if and what documents we need.
Once we have contacted your referees and we have received your pre-employment documents, we will get in touch to formally offer you the role. We will walk you through the process from there and discuss your relocation needs and what you need from us (i.e. assistance with flights or accommodation) to ensure you feel supported in your transition to Australia.

The application process for international applicants is the same as the process for local applicants. You can view our current opportunities and submit your application online via our careers portal.
We do not offer specific roles to international applicants. You can apply for any job that takes your interest, however sponsorship visa applications can only be progressed for eligible clinical roles.

For some roles, you will need to demonstrate your evidence of ‘Right to Work’ (Australia birth certificate, citizenship certificate, passport or current visa).
St John of God Health Care complies with relevant public health orders and legislation relating to vaccination of caregivers across Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. You will find out more about what is required for your specific role through the recruitment process.
You can expect the process to take anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks after the application closing date. This takes into account the review and selection process that the hiring manager undertakes, as well as allowing time for interviews and pre-employment checks.
If you are unsuccessful, you’ll be notified within one to 2 weeks of the application closing date for the position. After your employment contract is offered, the transition to Australia from overseas can take between 3 and 9 months due to a number of factors including The Department of Home Affairs visa processing time and personal circumstances regarding your relocation.
