You have access to a consultant cardiologist, diagnostic equipment, highly trained nursing staff and, if necessary, our Intensive Care Unit. St John of God Bendigo enables privately-insured patients direct access to state-of-the-art cardiac services.

Our CAU is for people suffering with:

  • chest pain
  • irregular heartbeats (palpitations)
  • fainting or blackouts
  • symptoms of heart failure.

Electrophysiology (Heart Rhythm Services)

Specialist care for irregular heart rhythms.

If you experience palpitations, irregular heartbeat, dizziness or fainting, our electrophysiology service may be able to help you.

Electrophysiology is a specialised area of cardiology focused on the electrical system of the heart. It identifies why your heart may be beating too fast, too slow or irregularly and guides the most effective treatment.

Symptoms we investigate

We can test for the following:

  • palpitations or racing heartbeat
  • irregular heart rhythms
  • dizziness or light-headedness
  • fainting (syncope)
  • unexplained fatigue
  • known or suspected arrhythmia
