Community and social outreach

Our hospital has a long history of working together with people in our community to help those in need. Today we continue this work through the following community partnerships and social outreach initiatives.

Our hospital has a long history of working together with people in our community to help those in need. Today we continue this work through the following community partnerships and social outreach initiatives.

Financial assistance to Anglicare

We contribute financial assistance to Anglicare to help them buy food for their Empty Cupboard Program, which assists people in need within our region.

Community support leave for caregivers

We actively support our caregivers to contribute to the community by offering Community Support Leave. This enables them to apply for up to four hours per month - or one week per year of paid leave - to provide voluntary services to organisations addressing disadvantage.

Donation of equipment and supplies

We donate hospital equipment, computers, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to health professionals and community groups working with the disadvantaged.

East Timor

We actively support the Bakhita Primary Health Clinic in Eraulo, East Timor. Our caregivers, doctors and allied health professionals volunteer their time to provide direct care and training. The Salesian Orphanages in Venilale and Lago also receive support through donated clothing, footwear, toiletries, books, sporting equipment and stationary.

Warrnambool Community Meal program

Many of our caregivers support the local community meal program, which offers soup to those in need on a weekly basis, by participating within its meal assistance roster.

Charity / community involvement

Our hospital’s caregivers have a strong sense of community and are regular participants in many local charity and fundraising events.  Follow our caregivers on our Facebook page.
