Maria Noonan


Chief Executive Officer 

Maria Noonan is the CEO for St John of God Warrnambool Hospital and was Director of Nursing at St John of God Ballarat Hospital from 2012 until 2024.

Maria was previously the Deputy Director of Nursing/Clinical Operations Manager at Ballarat and has performed in various management roles within St John of God Health Care.

Maria has completed her Graduate Diploma in Management and her Masters in Business Management at the University of Ballarat.

Leanne McPherson


Director of Clinical Services

Leanne was Director of Nursing at our hospital from May 2009 after more than 10 years in nursing and management roles within our perioperative (theatre) department.

With extensive experience across public and private health care, Leanne has acted in the role of Chief Executive Officer at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital when required and holds a graduate certificate in leadership and Catholic culture, Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Nursing and a Graduate Certificate in Management.

Dr Vince Russell


Director of Medical Services

Vince has held several positions at St John of God Ballarat Hospital over the past 20 years, including Director of Medical Services and Director of Emergency Medicine.

He now returns to the St John of God Warrnambool Hospital executive team as Director of Medical Services and continues to work in the Ballarat Emergency Department as a senior consultant.

He holds fellowships in the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and has a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine.

His current role involves helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and contemporary clinical care within the hospital.

Felicity Barker


Director of Mission Integration

Felicity was appointed as Director Mission Integration in March 2018 and has an extensive background as a pastoral care practitioner, having worked for more than 11 years at Mercy Place Warrnambool, caring for aged care residents and their families.

Felicity also previously worked as a pastoral care associate. She has studied social science, has completed 2 units of clinical pastoral education, a Graduate Diploma in Ageing and Pastoral Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Catholic Culture, and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment together with experience in teaching at Mercy Health and Holy Family Services.

Laura Bourke


Perioperative Services Manager

Laura Bourke is the Perioperative Services Manager at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital and commenced her nursing career at the hospital, completing her graduate year in 2014 before taking up a permanent role in theatres in 2015.

With more than 10 years of experience at the hospital, Laura has developed a strong and diverse skill set across perioperative services, and quality and risk.

She holds a Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing and brings a collaborative and considered leadership approach to a fast-paced and dynamic clinical environment, supporting high standards of care and contributing to strategic decision-making.
