We offer generous salary packaging options to all our full time, part time and eligible casual caregivers - up to $11,500 on mortgage and other expenses.

Salary packaging can help reduce your income tax by allowing you to pay for certain expenses with pre-tax money. You may be eligible for:

  • Up to $9,100 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, your rent, or other everyday living expenses
  • Up to $2,650 on meal entertainment, holiday accommodation and venue hire
  • Access to novated leasing to use pre-tax dollars for a car and expenses.
We support flexible work options to suit your work-life balance. This means you may be able to vary your working arrangements; such as work hours, work location and the way work is organised.

Any candidate that applies for an approved position from outside of Australia may be eligible for our unique and competitive overseas relocation support*, including:

  • Assistance with Australian work visas with progression to permanent residency (where applicable)
  • A personalised meet and greet and support from a relocation specialist to assist with housing, school tours, temporary accommodation, taxation, banking and settling in
  • Up to $10,000 financial relocation assistance for eligible items such as visa fees, flights, quarantine or shipping.

Midwives who join St John of God Health Care may be eligible for a $6,000 bonus, with 50% paid on joining.

A highly valued benefit of working with us, is the opportunity we provide to eligible caregivers to purchase an additional one or two weeks’ leave.
Eligible caregivers and their dependants can receive discounts for hospital and medical services provided by St John of God Health Care hospitals.
We partner with Converge International to provide employee assistance to our caregivers and their immediate family members. The Employee Assistance Program offers you free confidential support for a wide-range of concerns and gives you access to independent qualified professionals, including psychologists, social workers and management coaches.

View our current opportunities through our careers portal. You can search by area of work or employment type.

Once you have found the right position for you, you can apply for the role, by creating an account (if you don’t have one already) and submit your application online via our careers portal. You will be asked to confirm your personal details, complete a short questionnaire and attach your resume, cover letter and other relevant documentation.

All caregivers employed by St John of God Health Care are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Once applications for a position have closed, the hiring manager will review your application against the selection criteria for the position.

If you are shortlisted, we will contact you. You’ll also be notified if you have not been successful.

If you are shortlisted, we’ll invite you to attend an interview, which will be in one of three formats; either in-person, via live video or automated video. We will send you an email which will include how to prepare for your interview and the format to expect.
If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of our recruitment process, we will ask your permission to contact at least two of your professional referees.

At St John of God Health Care, we put our patients and clients at the centre of our care and want every caregiver to have the same commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone who walks through our doors. 

With this in mind, there may be some pre-employment documents to submit, however, we will advise you if and what documents we need. 

Once we have contacted your referees and we have received your pre-employment documents, we will get in touch to formally offer you the role. This will include
