Tina Chinery - Chief Executive OfficerAt John of God Subiaco Hospital CEO Tina Chinery

Tina Chinery joined St John of God Subiaco Hospital in 2022. Tina is a health executive leader with significant and broad experience in the hospital and health care sector across all service areas.

Formal qualifications include Australian New Zealand School of Government Executive Masters of Public Administration and the completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.

Tina also has extensive experience in health strategic service planning, capital project management, implementation of new technology, research and education.

Having started her career as a nurse, Tina is strongly committed to delivering high quality person-centred care and is pleased to work within an organisation that is focused on the Values of hospitality, compassion, respect, justice and excellence.

Dr Frank Daly - Director of Medical Services

Dr Frank Daly was appointed Director of Medical Services at St John of God Subiaco Hospital in 2024.

Frank brings more than 35 years of experience in the health sector, spanning clinical, academic, executive and commercial leadership roles. His career includes over 25 years in the Australian public health system and more than a decade in senior executive and Chief Executive Officer roles across two jurisdictions.

He has also served as Chief Executive of a central government agency and held a senior Asia-Pacific leadership role within the private sector, giving him a broad understanding of health system operations and strategy.

Clinically, Frank trained as an emergency physician and clinical toxicologist in both Australia and the United States. He is committed to excellence in clinical care, system improvement and medical leadership.

Dr Gemma Bilkey - Deputy Director of Medical Services

Dr Gemma Bilkey is Deputy Director of Medical Services at St John of God Subiaco Hospital, with responsibilities including clinical governance, accreditation of specialists, and oversight of junior medical officers.

Gemma is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and holds dual Master’s degrees in Health Management and Public Health. With more than 20 years of experience in the health care sector, she began her career as a speech pathologist before moving into medicine, where she worked in paediatrics prior to transitioning into medical leadership.

Gemma has held a range of senior medical leadership roles across both state and federal government. At the Western Australian Department of Health, she worked within the Clinical Excellence Division, participating in coronial reviews, significant incident investigations, and oversight of access to high-cost therapeutics and technologies. She worked for the Chief Health Officer, serving as Clinical Lead in the State Health Incident Coordination Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic, and contributing to the equitable implementation of population health genomics.

At the national level, Gemma worked as a medical advisor to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, advocating for high-quality care for veterans within complex regulatory frameworks. She has also held leadership roles in hospital settings across Western Australia and Tasmania. Her research in precision medicine and its health system impacts has been widely published in international journals and white papers. Gemma brings to Subiaco a strong commitment to ethical, equitable and evidence-based care.

Vanessa Tran - Director of Nursing

Vanessa Tran was appointed Director of Nursing in May 2023 after acting in the role since March 2023.

Vanessa has over 25 years of nursing experience, and extensive leadership and senior management experience in the public and private health care sectors.

Prior to joining our hospital, Vanessa was Director Clinical Operations at St John of God Health Care. She also formerly held the position of Director of Nursing at St John of God Geelong Hospital.

Matt Corlett - Director of Finance

With a background in public and private health care, Matt has had extensive experience in a range of senior public and private health care finance roles in both Australia and the UK, including Alfred Health, The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Spire Healthcare.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts and is a graduate of the University of Manchester with a first-class Honours in Mathematics and Physics.

Jason Soper - Director of Business and Service Development

Jason Soper was appointed to the position of St John of God Subiaco Hospital Director of Business and Service Development in December 2023, having originally joined the Hospital Management Committee in 2021 as Director of Procurement.

Jason has more than 20 years of experience working in the health care sector. Prior to joining our hospital community, Jason held a number of regional and national management roles across Medtronic’s neurovascular and neurosurgery business units.

Jason is passionate about good health care and looks forward to further strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and developing services in-line with strategic objectives to help ensure optimum patient outcomes.

Darren Jones - Director of Corporate Services

Darren Jones was appointed Director of Corporate Services at St John of God Subiaco Hospital in January 2022, following six months in the acting role.

Darren brings over 30 years of experience in the health care sector, with a strong background in both public and private health services. His career has spanned a range of leadership positions, particularly within Human Resources and broader corporate services functions. 

Prior to joining Subiaco Hospital, Darren served as Director of Corporate Services at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital for four years, where he played a key role in operational leadership and workforce strategy. 

Darren is a graduate of Edith Cowan University, holding a double major in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. He is committed to fostering an inclusive and values-driven workplace culture and supporting the delivery of high quality, person-centred care through strong corporate governance and effective service delivery.

Daniel Price - Director of Redevelopment

Daniel Price was appointed as Director of Redevelopment in October 2022 to lead the staged redevelopment of St John of God Subiaco Hospital, the largest transformation in the organisation’s history.

Equipped with an architectural degree, post-graduate business and project management qualifications, Daniel has a passion for built-form excellence and has delivered numerous complex and strategic redevelopment projects throughout Australia and abroad.

Most recently at Murdoch University, Daniel led the delivery of Western Australia’s largest 6 Star Green Star mass-engineered timber structure; Building 360 – Boola Katitjin.

Dr Siobhan Galos - Director of Mission Integration

Dr Siobhan Galos joined our hospital community as Director of Mission Integration in January 2024. 

Siobhan is an experienced educator and a respected leader in Catholic education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Bachelor of Education, a Master of Educational Leadership and a Doctorate of Philosophy, Education.

For the past eight years, Siobhan has held the position of Principal within the Catholic education system, most recently at St Michael’s School, Bassendean.

Prior to this, she held senior roles at Catholic Education Western Australia, including the position of Team Leader of the Learning and Teaching Team. Siobhan also has a rich background as a teacher and Assistant Principal of Religious Education.

Kirstie Bennett – Director of Strategic Projects and Capability

Kirstie was appointed St John of God Subiaco Hospital Director of Strategic Projects and Capability in March 2024. Kirstie is responsible for leading organisation development efforts and leading the delivery and oversight of many of the hospital’s short and medium-term strategic projects.

Prior to joining our hospital community, Kirstie spent six years shaping St John of God Murdoch Hospital’s culture and performance through a range of projects, including the introduction of the Leading an Empowered Organisation (LEO) program – which she has since introduced at Subiaco Hospital.

Kirstie moved to Perth from London more than 15 years ago to join the Health Practice at consulting firm PwC. Kirstie is passionate about the health care sector and the delivery of high quality services to the community. Kirstie has a MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
