Tina Chinery - Chief Executive Officer
Tina Chinery joined St John of God Subiaco in 2022. Tina is a health executive leader with significant and broad experience in the hospital and health care sector across all service areas.
Formal qualifications include Australian New Zealand School of Government Executive Masters of Public Administration and the completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.
Tina also has extensive experience in health strategic service planning, capital project management, implementation of new technology, research and education.
Having started her career as a nurse, Tina is strongly committed to delivering high quality person-centred care and is pleased to work within an organisation that is focused on the Values of hospitality, compassion, respect, justice and excellence.
Vanessa Tran - Acting Director Nursing
Vanessa Tran is currently employed as St John of God Health Care Director of Clinical Operations - Hospitals and is acting as St John of God Subiaco Hospital Director of Nursing until a permanent candidate is appointed.
Vanessa recently acted in the role and is familiar with our hospital, as well as our organisation's nursing structure and leadership team.
Vanessa has over 25 years of nursing experience, and extensive leadership and senior management experience in the public and private health care sectors. Prior to her current role, Vanessa was Director of Nursing at St John of God Geelong Hospital.
Matt Corlett - Director of Finance
Matt was appointed to the position of Director of Finance at St John of God Subiaco Hospital in August 2022, and is responsible for all aspects of financial governance at the hospital. He joined Subiaco from St John of God Geelong Hospital, where he was Director of Finance for four years.
With a background in public and private health care, Matt has had extensive experience in a range of senior public and private health care finance roles in both Australia and the UK, including Alfred Health, The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Spire Healthcare.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts, and is a graduate of the University of Manchester with a first class Honours in Mathematics and Physics.
Steve Cohen-Jones - Director of Business and Service Development
Steve Cohen-Jones was appointed to the newly created position of Director Business and Service Development in November 2017 and has responsibility for leading the hospital’s growth and marketing activities.
Steve has extensive leadership experience in business development and marketing, predominantly within the health sector, and has developed new brands, products, services and businesses to meet the evolving health care needs of the community. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, with double major in Marketing and Management and he is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors.
Steve is passionate about the advancement of better healthcare experiences for both patients and providers.
Jennifer Healey - Director of Mission Integration
Jennifer Healey was appointed in October 2017 and is responsible for supporting the Chief Executive Officer and executive team in providing leadership that seeks to strengthen and facilitate the Mission of St John of God Health Care.
Jennifer has a breadth of experience in leadership with prior roles including Principal of Loreto Nedlands and Director of the Office of University Relations at The University of Notre Dame Australia. Her professional qualifications include a Master of Religious Education, Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching.
Jason Soper - Director of Procurement (Subiaco and Bunbury)
Jason Soper was appointed to the newly created position of Hospital Procurement Director in July 2021 and has responsibility for leading the hospitals procurement function.
Throughout his 20-year career in the health sector Jason has held several management and senior sales roles. Most recently Jason has worked for Medtronic in a number of regional and national management roles across their neurovascular and neurosurgery business units.
Jason is passionate about good health care and is excited to be joining St John of God Health Care and particularly Subiaco and Bunbury hospitals in this new role. He is looking forward to putting his wealth of experience in the medical device industry to good use as he continues to collaborate with both caregivers and hospital leaders to deliver not only the best patient outcomes but also build successful partnerships with our key vendors.
David Lyle - Deputy Director Nursing, Surgical Services
As Deputy Director of Nursing, Surgical and Acute Care at St John of God Subiaco Hospital, David Lyle is responsible for inpatient surgical wards including intensive care, coronary care, Cardiovascular Intervention Lab and Nursing Pain Service. David was Manager of Surgical Services at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland and General Manager of Governance, Risk and Quality with the Bethanie Group in WA.
David has over 30 years’ experience in acute nursing, aged and community services, governance and management. David holds Bachelor degrees in Nursing and Health Science, a Masters in Health Informatics, and post-graduate diplomas in critical care, cancer nursing and infection control.
Ellen Almond - Deputy Director Nursing, Medical and Maternity Services
Ellen Almond was appointed Deputy Director of Women’s, Children’s, Newborn and Medical Nursing in September 2019 and brings a breath of clinical experience. Ellen has worked at St John of God Subiaco Hospital for 20 years and began as a graduate nurse on Wards 43, 52 and 61. Ellen also worked as a nurse in Chelsea and Westminster, and in a HIV Clinic in London.
On her return to Australia, Ellen re-joined St John of God Subiaco Hospital as a registered nurse and over time became a clinical nurse and then a nurse unit manager. Ellen holds a graduate Diploma in Health Promotion, a postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing and a postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management.
Sarah Payne - Deputy Director of Procedural Services
Sarah Payne was appointed as the Deputy Director of Perioperative Services in August 2018. In this role, Sarah is responsible for Perioperative Services, Short Stay Unit and Medical Procedure Unit.
Sarah has over 25 years of perioperative experience and has held senior perioperative leadership roles across South, East and North Metropolitan Health Services including Director Projects Operational Readiness on projects at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital.
