Jonathan Holt
Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan was appointed St John of God Health Care Mental Health Lead and Chief Executive Officer of St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals in March 2025.
He has more than 22 years’ experience in health care and 18 years in senior leadership roles, bringing with him deep expertise in the design, delivery and management of health care services.
Prior to joining St John of God Health Care, Jonathan was General Manager of Hunter New England Mental Health Services (HNE MHS). Providing inpatient, community mental health and specialised psychiatric services across 56 sites. HNE MHS is the largest and most geographically diverse mental health service in New South Wales.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, a Master's in Business Administration and has held other leadership positions previously, including General Manager of Community and Aged Care Services and Senior Manager of Community Services/Director of Allied Health.
Jonathan is well known for his strategic, innovative, and collaborative leadership and has an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, patient experience and the delivery of effective, high-quality services.
Cindy Foot
Director of Clinical Services
Cindy has been the Director of Nursing at St John of God Burwood since 2014, following roles as the hospital’s Deputy Director of Nursing and as a nurse unit manager.
Cindy completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nursing) in 1993 and has worked in nursing for over 20 years in Australia and the United Kingdom in mental health and acute care hospitals.
Cindy has strong involvement in the improvement of our services, including revision of nursing care practice and the introduction of the transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) service.
John Sweeting
Director of Mission Integration
John joined the NSW Mental Health Services team as Director of Mission Integration (DMI) across St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals in January 2024.
Before this he has held several senior management roles with the Catholic Church for the past 22 years including roles in Dioceses, Catholic Schools, Universities, Catholic Welfare and with World Youth Day Sydney 2008.
John holds a Bachelor of Theology and has experience in church administration, together with pastoral and finance roles.
Ekaterina Mikhalchenkova
Director of Finance and Corporate services
Ekaterina commenced in this role in March 2026 bringing experience in leading complex health services.
Ekaterina joined us from Macquarie Health Corporation, where she has held a number of roles and was most recently Finance Operations Manager.
She holds a Masters of Accounting and lives by the philosophy that ‘effective finance leadership is as much about people as it is about numbers, taking a practical, collaborative approach — balancing governance and commercial discipline with open communication and trust’.
