Community and social outreach
Providing care and relief to people who are oppressed, materially poor, powerless and disadvantaged is core to our healing Mission.
We want to contribute toward just and inclusive communities where everyone's dignity is respected and supported. We partner with other organisations because we believe true health involves all aspects of the environment and conditions in which people live and work.
As a not-for-profit organisation we dedicate part of our revenue to our St John of God Social Outreach services. These services reach out to people experiencing disadvantage to improve health and wellbeing and are available free of charge or at low cost.
LINCS (Living in Communities Volunteer Scheme)
We partner with community volunteer organisation LINCS (Living In Communities Volunteer Scheme) to provide support and a home base on our grounds.
This service provides crucial in-home family support services to the local community. Our clinicians and patients rely on the support of LINCS volunteers who provide child minding and respite for patients and their families who are admitted and receiving treatment.
As part of our partnership, we also coordinate the volunteer activities for LINCS. If you are interested in volunteering for this organisation or for St John of God Richmond Hospital, visit our volunteers page.
