Daniel Wong is an Australian trained general surgeon.  He graduated with MBBS from Monash University in 2000, then completed advanced surgical training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.  Daniel underwent further post-fellowship training in general, breast and thyroid surgery, then subsequently followed international mentors to gain extensive experience in the field of abdominal wall reconstruction.

Daniel has a special interest in complex hernia surgery, and has undertaken advanced courses in Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane as well as in the UK and USA.  He is well recognised in the repair of complex, large and recurrent hernias, performing these laparoscopically (keyhole), open or as a hybrid of these two techniques, and is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes, utilising the most up to date evidence.  Daniel attends hernia conferences internationally to remain up to date in the field.

Daniel also offers a wide range of other general surgery, including gallbladder and skin cancer surgery.  Having trained also under plastic surgeons, he has training in hand surgery and local flap reconstruction of lesions on the face and body.

He is also fully accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and has fulfilled strict recertification requirements.

Daniel is the Supervisor of Surgical Training in Ballarat.
