We are privileged to have Dr Kareen Khaw join our team and assume leadership of our Rehabilitation service following the recent retirement of Dr Debbie Kesper.

Dr Khaw is a compassionate and clinically driven doctor who is passionate about rehabilitation medicine. Following 8 years of diverse clinical experience at Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Alfred Health, and Albury Wodonga Health, Dr Khaw found her passion in helping patients to regain optimal function and independence.

In addition to the qualifications below, Dr Khaw is a Fellow of both the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, she is well-placed to make informed decisions to diagnose and manage a range of disabilities and conditions.

Kareen is supporting our inpatient rehabilitation service which caters to a range of multidisciplinary rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic rehabilitation following joint replacement surgeries, spinal surgery, and musculoskeletal injuries. She also supervises and runs outpatient rehabilitation programs alongside the allied health team, focusing on cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, and orthopedic rehabilitation. Her main clinical interests are spasticity and intrathecal pump management, spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury rehabilitation, as well as ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injection.

Importantly, Kareen is also delivering individual consulting and treatment services for patients requiring her expert clinical management. Her consulting rooms are located at St John of God Bendigo Hospital where she can accept referrals as per the contact options detailed below.

We are very pleased to welcome Kareen, her husband, and young daughter to Bendigo and look forward to her further growing and developing our rehabilitation services.
