Dr Oliver Waters provides consultation and endoscopy services at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.

He has interests in inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, iron deficiency, functional bowel conditions, clostridium difficile, bowel cancer screening, general liver disorders and the gut microbiome.

Dr Waters is originally from the UK. He completed a pharmacology degree at the University of Edinburgh before travelling and working on rural and health development projects in East Africa. He returned to the UK to study medicine at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, and completed his MBBS in 2001.

After working in the UK he moved to Sydney and worked in St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst before moving to WA in 2005. He completed his training in Gastroenterology in 2010 including rotations at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and Fremantle Hospital. He then undertook an 18-month clinical research fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Exeter, UK.
