Dr Alana Tuxen is a dermatologist who treats patients at St John of God Ballarat Hospital.

Dr Tuxen studied medicine at The University of Melbourne, and was the top graduate of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School in 2004.

Dr Tuxen achieved the highest mark in Australia in the fellowship exams of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2011.

She was awarded the Ken Paver Medal for Medical Dermatology, and the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ Travelling Fellowship.

After commencing training as a specialist dermatologist, Dr Tuxen worked in a variety of clinical settings, including paediatric dermatology at the Royal Children’s Hospital, complex medical dermatology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital, cancer dermatology at The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and subspecialty and surgical dermatology at The Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria.

Dr Tuxen has a broad range of interests and expertise, including skin checks, minor skin surgery, skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and women’s and children’s dermatology.
