Dr Ravinder Singh Phagura is an experienced general ophthalmologist with advanced international subspeciality training in medical and surgical retinal conditions.

Dr Phagura graduated medicine from The University of Notre Dame, Fremantle and was awarded a medical scholarship for ranking in the top four candidates of his year. He completed his ophthalmology training locally in Perth and became a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). He then pursued two outstanding and highly competitive international fellowships in the United Kingdom at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the prestigious Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, subspecialising in the diagnosis and management of both surgical and medical retinal diseases.

Dr Phagura’s areas of expertise and interest includes:

• secondary intraocular lens implantation.

  • vitreoretinal interface conditions (epiretinal membrane, macular hole, vitreomacular traction)

He is a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital and is engaged in the training of ophthalmology registrars, medical student teaching and international fellows undergoing advance training in vitreoretinal surgery. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international ophthalmology conferences.
