Dr Chin-Wern Chan practices pain medicine and anaesthesia at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. He also conducts research at the McCusker Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute and has a public appointment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

After graduating from UWA, Dr Chan completed anesthesia training in Western Australia, also undertaking pain medicine fellowship training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in paediatric anaesthesia and pain medicine at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Dr Chan subsequently embarked on a clinical fellowship in pain medicine and regional anaesthesia at the University of Toronto, Canada, completing this fellowship at the Wasser Pain Center in Mount Sinai Hospital and the Department of Anaesthesia at Toronto Western Hospital. During this time, he completed research into low back pain, ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia techniques and paediatric pain management.
