Dr Mahmoud Al-Najjar brings a wealth of international experience to his practice. Having previously resided in Ottawa, Canada, he relocated to Australia to pursue his illustrious medical career. He completed his medical education, earning a Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the esteemed University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Dr Al-Najjar is a highly qualified professional, holding certifications in Vascular Surgery, General Practice, and Rural Generalism. He is elected member of the RACS WA State Committee. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a distinguished member of the Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP), specializing as a Rural Generalist under the auspices of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP-RG).
His dedication to excellence in vascular surgery is underscored by his extensive training in Australia, culminating in the prestigious Vascular fellowship conferred upon him by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS Vasc) in 2023. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working alongside eminent figures in Australian Vascular Surgery, including Professor Paul Norman in Perth, the late Professor Philip Walker in Brisbane, and the late Associate Professor Michael Denton in Melbourne. He maintains active membership in professional bodies such as the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgeons (ANZSVS) and the ANZ Society of Phlebology.
With over 18 years of surgical experience, Dr Al-Najjar has traversed various regional settings in Queensland and Western Australia, gaining profound insights into the unique challenges of rural healthcare. He is deeply committed to medical and surgical education and has contributed significantly as a vascular examiner at the University of Western Australia Medical School. Dr Al-Najjar also serves as an instructor in numerous surgical courses, including the esteemed Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course conducted by the American College of Surgeons.
