Dr Bita Vahdani is an international consultant psychiatrist with advanced training in Neuropsychiatry. She brings extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of adult psychiatric conditions.
Her areas of clinical expertise include:
- Affective disorders (depression and bipolar disorder)
- Anxiety disorders (including panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder)
- Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders (OCD, trichotillomania)
- Trauma and stressor-related disorders (PTSD, acute stress disorder, adjustment disorder)
- Substance use disorders (alcohol, opioid, cannabis, amphetamine, methamphetamine and other chemical addictions)
- Psychotic disorders
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD and ADD)
- Geriatric psychiatry, witha special focus on neurocognitive disorders and dementia (Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia, and vascular dementia)
Dr Vahdani has a particular interest in neuropsychiatric disorders at the intersection of psychiatry and neurology, including the comprehensive assessment and management of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), traumatic brain injuries, dementia, headache disorders, and ADHD.
Her clinical training spans both public and private hospital settings, and she provides outpatient and inpatient care across New South Wales. This broad experience has given her comprehensive exposure to diverse patient populations with varied cultural backgrounds and presentations. Her practice is guided by the latest evidence-based approaches and clinical guidelines, ensuring that each patient receives the most current and effective care.
