Dr Paul Tyrrell is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in youth mental health, early psychosis, and general adult psychiatry. He works with patients aged 14 to 65, providing thoughtful, evidence-based care for a range of mental health conditions.
Dr Tyrrell completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2008 and went on to attain a Master of International Public Health from the University of Sydney. He completed specialist psychiatric training through the Sydney Local Health District, primarily at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2023.
Since fellowship, Dr Tyrrell has worked in the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury regions, supporting individuals across a broad spectrum of psychiatric presentations. His clinical interests include early psychosis intervention, mood disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, and personality disorders. He also has experience in providing WorkCover reports. Dr Tyrrell welcomes referrals for patients with intellectual disability.
