Kushwin has admitting rights to both St John of God Subiaco and Murdoch Hospitals and consults from his rooms in Nedlands, Joondalup and Midland. He has performed more than 2,000 ablation procedures, implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices. He provides a high standard of care in cardiac electrophysiology.

He completed medical school in 2003, obtaining an honours degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After completing his internship he relocated to Australia.

He completed his basic and advanced physician training in Cardiology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney in 2011. Thereafter he pursued his PhD studies in diabetes and cardiovascular disease at the Heart Research Institute, Sydney. He undertook a year of clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Westmead Hospital, Sydney and proceeded to the Cleveland Clinic, USA (ranked #1 in Cardiology by the U.S. News & World Report) to obtain a further two years of training in this field.

He is the recipient of the prestigious NHMRC Neil Hamilton Fellowship for his research work.
