After leaving Geelong to study Medicine at Melbourne University followed by dual-training in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine, Cameron returned to Geelong with his family.

Cameron completed his Physician Training in Melbourne and Darwin, before working as a Consultant full time for a number of years in large metropolitan Melbourne teaching hospitals, including as Director of Physician Education. He has broad clinical experience and interests, working full time as a clinician and teacher in both public and private sectors in both Infectious Diseases and General Medicine.

He has ongoing public appointments at University Hospital Geelong and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. When not working, Cameron enjoys family time, running, watching the Cats at Kardinia Park and spending time on the golf course.
