Dr Michael Collin is a highly skilled and compassionate paediatric surgeon with a deep commitment to providing exceptional care to children and their families. With extensive expertise in general paediatric surgery, Dr Collin specialises in neonatal, oncological, liver and upper gastrointestinal surgery with significant experience in surgery for inguinal hernias, orchidopexies and a passion for minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopy and hernioscopy.
After completing training in Paediatric Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Collin completed a fellowship position at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Paediatric Liver Transplant Surgery, before taking up a Consultant Surgeon position at that institution. Dr Collin has brought this extensive breadth of experience back to his home town in Perth, Western Australia.
His passion for surgical education, quality improvement, and research drives him to continually enhance the level of clinical care he delivers. Currently serving as a Paediatric General Surgery Consultant at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH), Dr Collin is deeply committed to medical education and is currently the Supervisor for Training for Paediatric Surgery at PCH. Throughout his career, Dr Collin has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. He was honoured with the Top Trainer award, voted by Australian and New Zealand paediatric surgical trainees, acknowledging his dedication to mentoring and training the next generation of surgeons. Dr Collin is actively involved in research with a significant contribution to publications and presentations at international conferences in his fields of interest.
