Dr Raphael Chee
Dr Raphael Chee is a radiation oncologist who treats patients at St John of God Geraldton and Subiaco Hospitals.
Dr Chee graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1996 and spent his formative years at Royal Perth Hospital after working as a volunteer surgical registrar at the major teaching hospital in Kathmandu.
After initial training in radiation oncology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Dr Chee completed his training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. This was followed by a fellowship in image-guided radiotherapy and gynaecology/brachytherapy at the Austin Hospital in Victoria. He returned to SCGH in 2009 and was appointed head of the Department of Radiation Oncology in 2011.
Dr Chee is one of two specialised gynaecological radiation oncologists in Western Australia. He has a special interest in head and neck, lung, upper gastrointestinal, colorectal, urological and skin cancers, as well as the highly technical aspects of radiotherapy practice, including high-dose rate brachytherapy and stereotactic lung and cranial therapies.
Dr Chee holds teaching positions at ECU and UWA, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology. He is a keen researcher with numerous research publications, oral presentations and posters to his name.
