Dr Michelle Ammerer is a graduate in medicine from The University of Western Australia and trained in cardiology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and subsequently at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

In addition to all areas of adult cardiology, Dr Ammerer is an interventional cardiologist with skills in coronary angiography, angioplasty and stenting. Dr Ammerer is Director of Coronary Care and an interventional cardiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She consults at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.

Dr Ammerer is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. She was the winner of the 2008 40Under40 competition, recognising her considerable contribution to the field of cardiology and the community.
