Generous donors provide a boost to research excellence at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

To continue building on this vital work and in partnership with St John of God Foundation, St John of God Subiaco Hospital is pleased to announce a new research grants program:

St John of God Foundation Research Grants

6 May 2022

St John of God Foundation Research Grants

Available in an initial pilot phase, the grants are designed to further support and grow St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s world class clinician-led research, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care, treatment and health care outcomes through translatable research.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is one of Australia’s premier private research institutes, with a team of researchers dedicated to solving relevant health care issues relating to our community and the world through research.

The grants will be open to St John of God Subiaco Hospital clinicians through a single stage application process closing 20 May 2022.

The two initial St John of God Foundation Research Grants categories will be:

1. Early Career Researcher Grants: A minimum of one early career researcher grant per year (valued up to $15,000)

2. Seed Funding Grants: A minimum of one seed funding research grant per year (valued up to $50,000)

The 2022 recipients will be announced during St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s annual ‘Research Week’ event later this year.

St John of God Foundation CEO Bianca Pietralla said, “The grants have only been made possible thanks to donations from grateful patients, family members and other supporters, who believe in improving health care through research innovation, to benefit others in the future. We are grateful for their generosity and excited to launch this program in partnership with St John of God Subiaco Hospital”.

The new grants program will be reviewed at the end of a pilot, with the ultimate goal of growing the program in future years through connecting philanthropic donations and community support with more of our research-active hospitals.
