Francesco is a respiratory and sleep specialist. He obtained his degree from the University of Sydney and completed his specialist training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

As a respiratory specialist he manages general respiratory conditions, lung cancer, airways disease and interstitial lung disease. He has a special interest in lung cancer and pleural diseases.

As a sleep specialist he manages respiratory disorders of sleep, movement disorders of sleep and insomnia. He has a special interest in non-invasive ventilation for patients with severe COPD and musculoskeletal disorders.

• Sleep medicine: Dr Piccolo treats both public and private patients at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals.
