Dr Abe has been a fully registered medical practitioner since 1995. He completed more than ten years of formal specialist training in obstetrics & gynaecology and reproductive medicine in the UK and Ireland. He moved to Australia in 2010 following appointment to Deakin as a senior clinical lecturer.

Dr. Abe has since been a practising obstetrician and gynecologist at University Hospital Geelong as well as St John of God Geelong Hospital. He is the Medical Director of Geelong Gynaecology, the busiest fertility practice in the Barwon area and Southwest Victoria. This practice specialises in ovulation induction treatments, recurrent miscarriages and age related infertility.

He also accepts referral for complex laparoscopic surgery including use of robots.
