Caregivers and teams recognised in WA industry awards

Three St John of God Health Care caregivers and two teams have been named as finalists in the upcoming WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.

Registered Nurse Victoria Kerrigan is a finalist in the Excellence in Registered Nursing category, St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Learning and Development Coordinator Sonya Jones has been named as a finalist in the Excellence in Education category and St John of God Murdoch Hospital Specialist Nurse (Stomal Therapy) Kate Brereton is a finalist in the Consumer Appreciation Award category.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s palliative care consult nursing team and St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital’s specialist rehabilitation service team are finalists in the Excellence in Person Centred Care category.

St John of God Health Care Group Director of Nursing and Patient Experience Dani Meinema congratulated the caregivers and teams on their recognition.

“It is wonderful to have three caregivers and two teams recognised for their contributions amongst their peers in these WA awards,” Dani said.

“Both the individual caregivers and teams exemplify our Values and focus on delivering compassionate, person-centred care as part of our Mission. 

“We wish Victoria, Sonya, Kate, our Subiaco hospital’s palliative care consult nursing team and our Mt Lawley hospital’s specialist rehabilitation service all the best in the upcoming awards.”

The WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards winners will be announced on 25 November 2022.
