Emily joins the organisation in the new role from private health insurer Bupa where she worked as General Manager Data Science, Engineering and Claims Integrity.

St John of God Health Care Acting Chief Operating Officer Hospitals Ben Edwards said this role was essential to enabling the organisation to make patient-centred decisions.

“As we continue to navigate the challenging strategic and operating environment, data and analytics can help empower our leadership and managers to make decisions with confidence and help us develop a competitive edge,” he said.

Data-driven decision making

“In today's health care landscape, data is becoming increasingly important in driving decision-making and improving patient care.

“By investing in analytics and data management, St John of God Health Care can ensure that we remain at the forefront of this trend, delivering high-quality care that is both effective and efficient.

“We are committed to investing in analytics and data management to drive our strategic priorities forward, and we are excited to have Emily onboard to help us achieve this goal.”

Analytics hub

Emily’s initial priorities will be focused on providing more access to accurate, meaningful data to the organisation’s leadership via the establishment of an analytics hub.

“Emily has knowledge of the Australian and UK health systems and front-line experience in delivering healthcare services and is looking forward to working closely with you all on all things analytics,” Ben said.

“She brings a deep understanding of health care analytics and a wealth of experience in developing and implementing analytics strategies that deliver business value. Her leadership will be instrumental in building a world-class analytics team, identifying new opportunities for data-driven innovation, and driving change across the organisation.”
