Health information services caregivers from across the organisation came together virtually to celebrate health information management as a profession, share examples in which health information services data had been used to make a change or start a new service, appointed a best-dressed National Health Information Management Week-themed caregiver and had a fun team-based competition.

In the 2020-21 financial year, our health information services caregivers supported privacy requests and the continuum of patient care through data submissions and managed, scanned and coded 381,331 overnight and same day patient admissions across our hospitals in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

Our health information caregivers do a lot of work behind the scenes and we'd like to say a big thank you for their efforts, which include:

  • documenting and managing our patients stories
  • contributing towards our patient care and future changes in care provided through the data gathered during our work
  • contributing towards patient safety
  • enabling our organisation to receive revenue for services provided
  • protecting patient information
  • supporting our hospitals and our clinical caregivers

If you would like to come and join our health information services team, we are currently advertising for clinical coders and health information managers to join our national coding team, as well as some hospital health information services roles, including Manager Health Information Services and Senior Health Information Manager at our Geelong hospital.
