Senior health executive appointed to new strategy role

Mr Wise joins the organisation from Radiology South Australia where he was Chief Executive Officer, and brings a wealth of private hospital experience having previously worked as the Chief Executive Officer for Spire Healthcare Ltd in London.

St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Shane Kelly said Rob would bring very valuable knowledge and skills to the organisation based on his experience, including in the UK, where he was responsible for strategy, growth and performance across 37 hospitals/clinics.

“Rob has had a wide-ranging career in health in both not-for-profit faith-based organisations, and for-profit private and publicly listed companies, and has a proven track record of developing strategy, delivering growth and enhancing performance,” he said.

Mr Wise said he was looking forward to working with the organisation’s executive team, particularly hospital executives, to address the challenges currently facing private health through strategy implementation.

“I was drawn to St John of God Health Care and this role as it offers a great opportunity to implement innovative ideas in our private hospitals, in particular, to respond to the challenging environment we are currently working in,” he said.

“The organisation is well placed to take a leading role and I hope my experience, particularly from my roles working in healthcare in the 1990s and more recently in managing large multi-site hospitals, brings value to the organisation.” 

Mr Wise started as Group Director of Strategy on 1 July 2019.
