Dr Forbes graduated in Medicine from the University of Western Australia in 1985. He trained in Gastroenterology in Perth (Australia) and London (England), before being appointed as Gastroenterologist to Royal Perth Hospital in 1995, and established a full-time private practice in Duncraig in 2016.
Dr Forbes has prided himself upon the delivery of quality care to all patients; this is reflected in previous positions such as Gastroenterology Departmental Head (2000-08), his teaching and mentoring roles, and in clinical research interests. He has an honorary professorial appointment at the University of WA.
Within Dr Forbes' general gastroenterology private practice, special areas of expertise are colorectal cancer screening and prevention, inflammatory bowel disease, and coeliac disease.
