Dr E. Kate Wills is part of the new wave of post graduate psychiatrists with previous life experience and a focus on holistic care and wellbeing.

Dr Kate is a psychiatrist with a profound and long-standing commitment to community wellbeing, doctor welfare and innovative mental health care. She is a post-graduate medical practitioner, having achieved her MBBS in 2015 before joining the RANZCP psychiatry training program at the earliest opportunity.

Her specialist training was predominately in Sydney Local Health District and incorporated experience in adult public inpatient units and the community setting, as well as perinatal, forensics, drug and alcohol, older persons, rehabilitation and intellectual disability settings, finishing at St John of God Burwood Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.

Further interest in community wellbeing led to Dr Kate developing a pioneering program to address the growing challenge of occupational burnout for the community. This program, titled "Beating burnout with wellbeing," is the first private hospital associated, clinician led burnout course of its kind in Australia with a self paced online alternative.

Dr Kate is passionate about continuing this drive in relation to doctor's welfare. She is a representative for her colleagues in the Section of Private Practice Psychiatry Committee, encouraging a voice for all the medical profession in order to advance wellbeing, work satisfaction and ultimately patient safety.
