Dr Amina Shahid is an experienced General Physician at St John of God Bunbury Hospital. 

She has worked as a specialist for over a decade. Dr. Shahid is passionate about looking after her patients and providing holistic care rather than treating conditions. She works closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, OTs and social workers to ensure that every option is considered to provide optimal, patient centred care and timely treatment.

Dr Shahid graduated from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany in 2007. After completing training in General Medicine at secondary and tertiary hospitals in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg, she gained her Specialist Qualification in 2013. 

Amina gained work experience across the spectrum of General Medicine both in an inpatient and outpatient setting in New Zealand from 2014-2023. She was granted Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. 

Dr Shahid covers a broad range of General Medicine and has a special interest in cardiology, especially Ischaemic Heart Disease, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and congestive heart failure management.  She is also experienced in lung nodule work up and COPD management.

Outside of work, Dr Shahid enjoys traveling with her husband and their three beautiful girls. 

She speaks multiple languages fluently and loves to connect with people; she is also passionate about women’s rights and equality.
