Murdoch welcomes the first St John of God baby of 2024

Baby Amber Liu is the first baby born at St John of God Health Care in 2024, at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.

Amber, weighing in at 2.9kg, was born at 12:07am on 1 January 2024 and is the first baby for parents Menghan Liu and Zhengchao Wang.

With her full head of dark hair and rosy cheeks, Ms Liu said the name choice for Amber was an easy one.

“It’s quite an energetic name,” she said.

“I want her to be happy and energetic.”

St John of God Murdoch Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ben Irish congratulated the parents on the safe arrival of their baby.

“What a way to start the new year for Menghan and Zhengchao,” he said.

“We are so pleased to have been able to share this special moment with them and support their first few days as a new family.”
