Premium patient suites contract awarded to Trigon Projects

St John of God Subiaco Hospital has appointed Trigon Projects to deliver the construction of two new premium patient suites.

The suites are being built in the existing hospital thanks to the generosity of the Rinehart Medical Foundation.

A spokesperson for St John of God Subiaco Hospital said the premium patient suites are the first of their kind to be piloted in Western Australia, and are the vision of Hancock Prospecting Executive Chairman Mrs Gina Rinehart.

“The suites will be unrivalled in Australia, and will offer a level of comfort and amenity aligned with premium offerings available at leading private hospitals internationally,” she said.

“They will be twice the size of our hospital’s existing patient rooms and will include a kitchenette, lounge area and generous ensuite. They will also feature temporary overnight accommodation for the comfort of patient's visitors and carers.”

Trigon Projects will mobilise its team onsite over the coming weeks, with construction of the two premium patient suites anticipated to continue until late 2024.

The suites will open in early 2025 for an initial 12 month evaluation period.

The spokesperson added that “Piloting the suites will allow us to test the offering and evaluate the viability of a permanent model, as part of St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s major redevelopment project.”
