St John of God Subiaco Hospital reaches major redevelopment and sustainability milestone
18 May 2026
Delivered by Multiplex, the state-of-the-art facility powers the hospital’s existing infrastructure and will support the new six storey clinical building set for construction as part of Stage Three of the major redevelopment project.
St John of God Director of Redevelopment Daniel Price said the plant will significantly reduce the hospital’s environmental impact.
“The Site Energy Plant has been carefully designed to reduce our carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency across the entire campus,” he said.
“This has contributed to the new clinical building being on track to receive a 5 Star Green Star Buildings rating, setting a new benchmark for sustainable healthcare infrastructure.”
St John of God Subiaco Hospital Chief Executive Officer Tina Chinery said the project demonstrates the organisation’s focus on sustainable and responsible growth.
“Sustainability is a key pillar of St John of God Health Care’s Strategy,” she said.
“This project is a clear example of how we’re continuing to deliver care in a more efficient and environmentally responsible way.”
Stage Two of the redevelopment is expected to reach completion later this year.
