St John of God Subiaco Hospital Parent Education Coordinator, Felicity Anderson was interviewed by 9 News Perth Journalist Monika Kos to speak about their new Empathy Belly Pregnancy Simulator. The Empathy Belly has become a total hit in our parent education classes.
Partners’ and support people can now develop a better understanding on how women experience pregnancy.
The 13.5 kilo vest simulates more than 20 pregnancy symptoms. The weight of the vest changes the participant’s center of gravity, puts pressure on their bladder, cause back aches and can even impede their ability to tie their shoelaces.
The Empathy Belly Pregnancy Simulator is part of the antenatal parent education classes held at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.
