Members of the Western Australian research community came together to celebrate St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s annual Research Week which was held 26 to 29 August 2019.

The annual event provided the opportunity to celebrate our investment in health and medical research, as well as the remarkable body of research which is contributing to our reputation as one of the State’s leading research institutes.

As part of the week almost 400 individuals attended a wide range of Industry and community events including the CIC Cancer Project Seminar led by St John of God Subiaco Hospital Breast Surgeon Prof Christobel Saunders AO.

The theme of the week was ‘Putting Patients First’ which is part of St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s focus on caring for the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs of patients.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital CEO Prof Shirley Bowen said the hospital’s investment in health and medical research is central to delivering exceptional patient care.

“It enables our engagement with the very best in new technologies, treatments and practices and allows us to attract a world-class team of researchers, doctors and Caregivers,” she said.
