Through the generosity of staff and doctors who attended the event, which was sponsored by Maxxia Australia, over $1,100 was donated to the Vinnies Bushfire Appeal.

Organised by the St Vincent de Paul Society, the Appeal is helping individuals and families as they cope with the immediate aftermath of the fires through practical and emotional support.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital CEO Prof Shirley Bowen said: “It was wonderful to see more than 350 members of our hospital community come together to contribute to this very worthy cause.”

“Compassion is a core value of St John of God Health Care and our caregivers at Subiaco continually amaze me with their compassion for our patients, each other and their fellow Australians in need.”

Additional proceeds will be raised for the Appeal through the sale of second hand items and baked goods at the hospital’s Volunteer Stall next month.

Almost $1,200 was raised at the December stall and was donated to the Appeal.
