St John of God Geelong Hospital has been a leading provider of maternity services in the Greater Geelong region for almost 50 years, with experienced, dedicated midwives and obstetricians who have delivered babies for generations of local families.

As the Greater Geelong region - which is now home to over 270,000 people – continues to grow, it is important to ensure local families can access exceptional, compassionate maternity care now and into the future.

St John of God Geelong Hospital has committed to the redevelopment of the hospital’s maternity unit, to ensure Geelong families can access the very best care and facilities, close to home. The St John of God Geelong Hospital maternity redevelopment is an investment in the health and wellbeing of new babies and their parents, and in the future of Geelong.

Fundraising to support our vision for the future

Our current funding has enabled us to commence works on the redevelopment of the Maternity Unit, but the impact of COVID-19 has led to rising costs, putting many of the special elements of this project at risk. We need help from our community to create something extraordinary for our patients – and so together with St John of God Foundation we are fundraising to help bring this special project to life. St John of God Foundation is a registered charity and the fundraising arm of St John of God Health Care.

We’re seeking donations from local businesses, philanthropic partners, and our amazing community, including through fundraising phone calls and appeal letters to people in the Greater Geelong region, so that together we can ensure that outstanding care and comfort closer to home is available for local families, now and into the future.

Why does St John of God Health Care fundraise?

As a not for profit group, St John of God Health Care returns all surpluses to the communities we serve by updating and expanding facilities and technology, developing new services, investing in people and providing social outreach services to those experiencing disadvantage.

Existing hospital resources can cover essentials, however there is always more we can do to ensure exceptional care and facilities are always available for our communities. Contributions from compassionate individuals, families and organisations help to enable advanced treatments and transformational care that may not otherwise be possible through traditional means.
