The new robot can be used for orthopaedic surgeries including total hip and knee replacements and partial knee replacements.

It adds to the hospital’s existing Rosa Knee System, which enables orthopaedic surgeons to virtually conduct a knee replacement before performing any resection. The Rosa system, which has been recently upgraded with updates to instrumentation and robotic software, also sends surgeons live data and feedback to ensure resections are precise and accurate.

The additional robotic technology at the hospital means patients will no longer need to travel to Melbourne for surgery. It highlights how St John of God Health Care has been providing patients with access to the latest technology and enabling exceptional care close to home.
