Don't fear the fracture

The aim of the Supervised Clinical Attachment (SCA) is to update knowledge and skills in basic fracture management. It is designed to provide an individualised learning experience and is an active, hands-on mode of learning, where the examples, scenarios and problems are real cases.
Session 1
Date: Thursday 4 February
Time: 7.30am to 9.30am
Location: Bridget Clancy Wing, St John of God Geelong Hospital - 80 Myers St, Geelong
Introductory breakfast session covering pain management/splinting/x-rays and approach to basic fractures.
Session 2
Date: Saturday 6 March
Time: 9.00am to 12.00pm
Location: University Hospital Geelong - Bellerine St, Geelong
One session at University Hospital Geelong fracture clinic, paired with another GP and supervised by Mr Chatar Goyal, learning how to apply and remove basic plasters. Participants will acquire
necessary skills in application of a below elbow full plaster, below knee back-slab and above elbow backslab.

One session at St John of God Geelong Hospital in a private fracture review clinic supervised by Mr Chatar Goyal and an Emergency Registrar. A chance to consider fracture complications and timeframes for review.

Date: Thursday 6 May
Time: 7.30am to 9.30am
Location: Bridget Clancy Wing, St John of God Geelong Hospital - 80 Myers St, Geelong
Concluding breakfast session whereby participants have the chance to share and discuss interesting cases.
