Welcome to St John of God Midland Public Hospital

St John of God Midland Public Hospital is Perth’s newest hospital providing free medical and surgical care for patients in the east metropolitan and Wheatbelt regions.

We provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery.

Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care

Our services

We offer a wide range of services, caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including maternity, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and allied health.


Our outpatient service provides ongoing care for patients with complex or chronic conditions who have been discharged from hospital or do not need to stay at hospital. These services include medical, nursing, allied health and multidisciplinary clinics.

Mental health

We provide a multidisciplinary service to people who need mental health care. Our unit cares for adults and older adults with acute needs while children and adolescents can access urgent help in our Emergency Department.

Today we celebrated 18 months of operations and having treated 267,230 patients, including 86,620 adults and children in the Emergency Department. We have also delivered 2,150 babies and had 155,800 outpatient visits since opening.
