What’s your position?

I’m a Registered Nurse at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals. I work on the stroke and rehabilitation ward.

How long have you worked with us?

I’ve worked here since the hospital was opened in 2015, so it’s been close to seven years now.

What do you enjoy most about working with us?

I do enjoy working at St John of God Health Care as everyone is just so friendly. I’ve had opportunities to move to different places and hospitals but I feel like the culture here is great and I’m supported throughout and I wouldn’t want to move anywhere, I love it here.

What do you love about living in Perth?

Many things! Perth, and Australia in general, is a multicultural society. Coming from Africa 10 years ago, I moved here and I feel as one of everyone, I belong here. It’s a laid back city – I’m from the country so I love it here.

Do you and your team socialise outside of work?

We have work drinks sometimes on Friday’s or over the weekends at least once a month.

What does St John of God Health Care do to make you feel cared about in the workplace?

There’s flexibility to choose your roster and managers are very understanding – they know that we have a life outside of work so they try to roster us to have that work-life balance.
