Visitor guidelines

Infants, children and young persons

As part of being a Child Safe Organisation, we have specific guidelines in place for those visiting our wards to spend time with our youngest patients.

If you are planning on visiting a patient in this group, please ensure that the next of kin, guardian or carer has nominated you and has advised the hospital of this in advance.

Visitors are required to provide identification on arrival and will need to be checked in by one of our caregivers on the ward they intend to visit.

Valid identification (ID) checks will be in the format of:

  • 1 X photographic ID, e.g. drivers license; or
  • 2 X non-photographic ID, e.g. Medicare card and or bank issued card
  • Physical in-person identification by the next of kin, guardian or carer responsible for completing the visitor register.

Visitors not on the approved list will be asked to contact families separately and will not be permitted to visit until endorsed.
