55 Central provides housing and support services to people who are facing homelessness, living with mental illness, addiction or experiencing other issues impacting their life.

55 Central Operations Manager Mark McKenzie said the car is a valuable resource for the charity.

“This is the second car that St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital has kindly donated to our charity.”

“The cars are used for client driving lessons as well as transporting clients to appointments and for errands and grocery shopping,” he said.

Hospital caregivers also raised almost $700 through their R U Ok? Day raffle, which will be donated to the charity.

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital CEO Vanessa Unwin said hospital caregivers have shown a great passion for helping those in need.

“Caregivers are always looking for opportunities to fundraise for our Charity of Choice and we look forward to continuing our support of 55 Central and the incredible services they provide,” she said.
