St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital celebrates National Volunteers Week

To let our volunteers know how much we appreciate what they bring to the hospital, we held a sundowner for National Volunteers Week on Friday.

Kerrie James, Volunteer Services Coordinator, said the theme of the week ‘give happy, live happy’ reflects our volunteers.

“It is an absolute pleasure to work with our volunteer group, who freely give their time and energy to patients and caregivers at the hospital,” said Kerrie.

“This is the first year we have held a sundowner as we wanted to do something special to show our appreciation.

“A big thanks to Volunteering WA and Lotterywest, who supported this event which included art activities led by our project officer, Karen Morgan.

“This support also gave us the opportunity to invite volunteers from our other hospital sites, which was a lovely way to connect and find out the roles of volunteers in our fellow hospitals.”

Thank you to all our volunteers – you bring a special kind of joy to St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital, and thank you again to Volunteering WA and Lotterywest for their support.
